Judge Larry O'Keefe Lewis
Judge Lewis is a 1959 graduate of Clarksdale High School. He attended the University of Mississippi. He graduated from Delta State University with a B.A. Degree, in 1964. He attended Tulane Uniersity of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated in May of 1967, with his Juris Doctorate.
Judge Lewis became a Circuit Court Judge for the Eleventh Circuit District of the State of Mississippi, July 1, 2001.
Just prior to being appointed Judge, he began a General Practice Law Firm, Caldwell & Lewis, in Marks(Quitman County) Mississippi, after his return from active duty training in the military, May 1968 to June 30, 2001. Judge Lewis was the Attorney for Quitman County's School District from 1969 to 1986 and then 1996 to 2001, Municipal Court Judge, for the City of Marks, 1969-1978, Quitman County's Prosecutor, 1970-2001, Attorney for Mayor and the Board of Aldermen in Sledge, MS, 1969-1985, Attorney for Marks-Quitman County Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment, March 1981-June 30, 2001, Attorney and Secretary for Marks, Sledge Bayou, Deep Bayou, Lost Lake, Little Oppossum, Bush Outlet and Squirrel Lake Drainage Districts.
Judge Lewis was in the Mississippi Army National Guard for 6 years Company C, 223rd Engineering Battalion(Construction).
He attends First Baptist Church in Marks, Mississippi where he is a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
