The Data Processing Division, with the assistance of Delta Computers(Gulfport, MS) for the applications software and Premise, Inc.(Hattiesburg, MS) for network support, together handles the day-to-day operations of Bolivar County's software, networking and internet needs.  Through the use of fiber optic cabling, VPN's and Ethernet LAN's, the Data Processing Division has the ability to handle terminals, printers, and PC's of all types for the main courthouse and all necessary satellite offices.  Bolivar County's main processor is an IBM iSeries AS/400 Model 170 for support of Data Processing functions.

Bolivar County recently underwent a major renovation of our current I.T. system.  This renovation involved upgrading our internet to DSL, increasing computer communication speed and thereby increasing the efficiency of Bolivar County's daily operations.  The renovation also included replacing and upgrading cabling, ensuring and implementing increased security measures to protect county data, and other various "housekeeping" measures to ensure an efficient and effective computer system.
